Evangelist Mike Eddy, an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, recently celebrated his forty-sixth year in full-time ministry -- twenty of those serving as lead pastor in Texas and New Mexico, and twenty-seven serving as an evangelist, traveling across the nation ministering in special services, camps, and revival meetings.
Born in Lynnwood, California, Mike spent the latter years of his childhood in Raton, New Mexico, where he graduated from high school then moved to Waxahachie to attend Southwestern Assemblies of God College where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Christian Ministry. Mike grew up in a broken home, the son of an alcoholic father. When Mike was 11 years old, a neighbor invited him to church for a kids’ event. That night at the event, Mike gave his life to Christ. One year later in a revival meeting, the Lord baptized Mike in the power of the Holy Spirit, and Mike knew the Lord had called him to serve in ministry. At the age of 14, Mike’s pastor invited him to preach his very first sermon.
JaLayne was born in Dallas, Texas, and spent most of her growing up years in Tyler and Winnsboro, Texas, where her parents, LD & Jane Smith, served as pastors and evangelists. She worked alongside her parents in ministry, worked as an administrative assistant in the professional arena, and continues to serve with her husband in various ministry and administrative roles.
Mike and JaLayne have been married for 39 years and have two adult children. Their daughter Janea and her husband Seth have served as staff pastors, worship leaders, church planters, and now as lead pastors of Cultivation Church AG in Arlington, Texas. They have two incredible sons, Gideon & Solomon, and precious twin girls, Jovie & Ellison. The Eddys’ son Micah has served as Youth Pastor, Worship Pastor, staff member at Fuego Church in Red Oak, and traveled as a vocalist -- solo and with a band, as well as with The Harvesters music group out of Waxahachie for several years. He and his sweetheart Marisa married in February of 2023, and continue to serve in various ministry roles.
Mike’s desire is that the church-at-large be revived, having a fervent love for God, and that every Christian be motivated and empowered by the Holy Spirit for personal evangelism.
